Untwist, Straighten, and Arrange Wires (T568B Standard)

Untwist the 4 pairs. Straighten each individual conductor using your fingers. Arrange the 8 wires flat in exact T568B order from left to right: 1: White-Orange, 2: Orange, 3: White-Green, 4: Blue, 5: White-Blue, 6: Green, 7: White-Brown, 8: Brown.

Trim Wires to Flush Length (1/2 Inch)

Hold the aligned wires tightly side-by-side between thumb and index finger. Using the flat cutting blade of the crimper, trim the wires in a clean, perfectly straight line so that approximately 12 mm (0.5 inch) of exposed parallel conductors remain.

Insert Wires into RJ45 Plug and Verify Seating

Hold the RJ45 plug with the gold pins facing UP and the plastic release latch facing DOWN. Push the wires firmly into the plug channels until all 8 wire tips are clearly visible touching the front plastic face. Ensure the outer jacket enters past the strain relief wedge.

Crimp the RJ45 Plug with Crimping Tool

Insert the prepared RJ45 connector into the 8P8C crimping chamber of the tool. Squeeze the ratchet handles with steady, firm pressure until the ratchet releases. The gold-plated pins pierce the wire insulation and the strain-relief clamp locks down on the jacket.

Repeat on Opposite End & Test with Cable Tester

Crimp the other end of the cable using the same T568B sequence to create a Straight-Through patch cord. Plug one end into the Master unit of the cable tester and the other into the Remote unit. Turn on the tester and verify that LEDs 1 through 8 light up sequentially on both units.
